Short-Circuit Fault Analysis of the Sen Transformer Using Phase Coordinate Model

The Sen Transformer (ST) provides an economical solution for power flow control and voltage regulation. However, fault analysis evaluation of the performance transmission protection system in presence a ST have not been investigated. Hence, short-circuit model using phase coordinate method is proposed this paper. Firstly, according to coupled-circuit model, nodal admittance matrix between sending end receiving was deduced. Subsequently, fully decoupled mathematical established that can reflect three characteristics, including its winding connection structure, electrical parameters, ground impedance. Thus, with help phase-coordinate-based solving methodology, may be built various faults. MATLAB PSCAD/EMTDC software were employed carry out simulated analyses equivalent two-bus system. currents obtained from time-domain simulation analytic calculation utilizing reached acceptable agreement, confirming simulation’s effectiveness. Moreover, variation compensating after single-phase-to-ground three-phase faults demonstrated used analyze effect on currents.
